Abstract

The paper proposes to analyze the insertion of girls in the illicit drug trade from the perspective of work. Under the context of the reorganization of drug control through more stable forms of commerce and the strengthening of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) in São Paulo, the study relates categories such as youth, gender and work. Through interviews and analyzes of life trajec- tories, we sought to understand central aspects that the activity provides, such as autonomy, power and belonging, while at the same time imposing precariousness, exploitation and gender inequality.
