Cancellations, escraches and resounding silences: fascist attacks in the name of liberalism in Argentina

This paper analyses the anti-liberal practices of the far right in Argentina which, even in the name of a supposed freedom, resort to the format of cancellation in a distorted game of mirrors with respect to the real or imagined cancellation practices of progressive social movements. It argues that the cancellation format is more ergonomic for reactionary contexts, in which the notions of truth, coherence and veracity, presuppositions for democratic politics, the university and research, come into crisis. This creates dilemmatic situations for intellectual work in the face of the tension of crossed cancellations.
