Conditions for Submissions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check the submission for compliance with all items listed below. Submissions that do not comply with the standards will be returned to the authors.

  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal and has not been published in whole or in part as part of books or in a journal.
  • The submission file is in Word format. The text is in one and a half spaces; uses a Times New Roman 12 font font; employs italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); the margins respect the following measurements: Left and Top: 3 cm. Right and Bottom: 2 cm.; Figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments. URLs for references were provided when possible.
  • Manuscripts deposited on a preprint server that supports public comments or in event proceedings are accepted for review. In these cases, authors must inform in the first footnote the location and origin of the article or complete data from the proceedings of the event at which the work was presented.
  • The data, analytical methods and research materials used in the manuscript are transparent and publicly available, enabling replication of the study. These are, in particular, quantitative data, graphs, tables, authorial or third-party databases, among other elements that can support the replicability of the study or other studies. If this data is not public, the material must be sent in a supplementary document.
  • The authors observed all research ethics principles described in the "Guidelines for Authors".
  • In the case of texts with more than one author, the role of each author in the production of the article is duly explained, in accordance with the CRediT taxonmy (See “Guidelines for Authors”).
  • To submit a text, authors are required to have a minimum master's degree.
  • It is suggested that the author uses articles already published by Contemporânea - Revista de Sociologia da UFSCar in his bibliographic reference, contributing to the circulation of the Journal's production and the citation index.
  • The content of signed works is the sole responsibility of the authors, as is the selection of descriptors (keywords).
  • The authors agree, if the article is accepted for publication, with the publication of opinions and responses to opinions as supplementary material to the published article (OPTIONAL).
  • Contemporânea publishes articles in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
